The day Cologne had been waiting for finally arrived yesterday!
IMM Cologne started this past Monday, the 15th, and promised to turn Cologne’s design scene upside down once again. All for the right reasons! Hundreds and hundreds of interior design and furniture brands got together to celebrate design in the heart of Europe, and all we can say about the first day, for now, is that it was a major success and everyone seems to be loving Cologne and everything this friendly city has to offer! Let’s step inside Köelnmesse for a few minutes and check out how the first day went…

With 11 halls to go through, finding all the most exciting news at IMM Cologne might not have seemed like an easy task. However, if you had our latest IMM guide with you at all times, this wasn’t even a concern in your mind yesterday! And because you have probably hadn’t yet the time to see all the halls, and today is a new day, we know for a fact that you spent the first day at the interior design show roaming around and very close to Hall 11… the most exciting hall of them all.
Our favorite stand… D.003 in Hall 11.1!
While Essential Home and DelightFULL’s stand is being a big hit with all the design lovers that traveled all the way across to Cologne to see some of the best furniture brands and trends, there were a few pieces that definitely caught their eye just a little bit more…
Essential Home’s piece de resistance, Monocles sideboard was one of the biggest hits with all the passerby. The 007-inspired mid-century credenza was displayed amongst many other mid-century furnishing and lighting designs, yet it still managed to surpass them. With a sleek design, Monocles sideboard takes us back to the late 1960s futuristic design that we all now connect to the space race. And while people at IMM Cologne usually go for more minimalist and industrial pieces such as DelightFULL’s Sinatra floor lamp (pictured below), for example, no one could stay indifferent to such a unique looking design.

Another major hit was DelightFULL’s Graphic collection! With dozens of letters, numbers, and symbols to choose from, these marquee lamps by the mid-century lighting brand were everywhere in Stand D.003! Versatile, the biggest feedback was how much of a statement they create in every interior, or outdoor space they are placed in! Definitely, a trend to keep an eye on!
Keeping up with this industrial vibe going on Cologne, what many of the attendees really seemed to enjoy was Essential Home’s custom Hudson armchair! Not only does this accent chair stands out for its classic design, this time, instead of the usual leather upholstered seat, what passerby were surprised with was a stunning custom fabric that took the industrial look to the next level!
