This Is… Sherwin-Williams 2019 Color of the Year!

September means it’s going back to work time, which usually means it is time to start new projects.

A nod to mid-century design set on the future, Cavern Clay comes as a warmer color option after Sherwin-Williams’ 2018 color of the year, Oceanside. The perfect tone to create cozy and comfortable settings for both residential and commercial projects, the 2019 Color of the Year by Sherwin-Williams has already won our hearts over.

A rich color that, alone, has the power to create a true statement, Cavern Clay will work best when paired with neutrals, bringing in a warm feeling that will transport us to gorgeous canyons, beaches, and deserts on the American continent. The paint company offers designers, architects, and interior decor lovers four optimal options to pair this color with: Origami White, Distance, Moth Wing, and Dark Clove.

The mid-century color palette inspiration is clear in this earthy tone, which Sherwin-Williams made sure to darken, as a way to make it up to date with contemporary times and give it a fresh twist. However, this comes as great news for mid-century enthusiasts, which throughout the last year have come to think the mid-century renaissence movement was on its last legs.
