There is one Greek couple that, with the help of Alchemy Event Studio, decided that Easter is not time for overdone pastels or rabbits. Instead, they’ve decided to celebrate deep-rooted traditions – without making the aesthetic look outdated.
When they planned the Orthodox Easter lunch, the table was transformed into a collection of springtime delights, showing contemporary style and important tokens of tradition. As you can see, they chose spring flowers and added lemons and oranges to the display.
They also used an aqua hue to bright the table without resorting to the season’s exhausted baby blues – and it’s also a way to draw attention to the center of the table.
One important detail is the devil eye, because that is a symbol meant to protect against bad luck or injury.
The chandelier above the table is also adorned with flowers and fruits, evoking the charms of spring. This trades the typical color scheme of the holiday for something more sophisticated, vibrant and more celebratory, walking away from cliché trends.
Other thing that keeps our eyes on the table, mainly on the table’s décor color, are the simple flatware and glassware.
This family has always had a big Easter celebration with friends and family, Greeks and not Greeks, and people of all faiths. Let’s be honest, with a beautiful lunch table like this, it’s easier to gather all that people.
