From all that passion and inspiration fostered by Paris, near Place de Clichy – in the 9th arrondissement of the city-, there’s a stunning house that was the subject of a home makeover by interior designers at 10 sur Dix – Design Lab. This French team created an inspiring modern home filled with industrial accents and a mid-century sideboard that you won’t ever forget, making it seem like a movie set.
In the center of this French movie there is a british star, as big as James Bond himself – Monocles Sideboard.
This sideboard, inspired by the 7th art, makes all the difference in the room. With dark walnut and gold plated brass finishes, this mid-century piece can light up a room all by itself. The monocles circles are engraved to the back and side of the unit, giving it an severe character and high end look. It is a perfect furniture piece for retro lovers or mid-century admirers, giving the knurling knobs on the drawers or the tapered legs.
The remodelling was entirely made by the French trio, and the open plan living is very characteristic of industrial interiors. The modern and slightly bohemian look was achieved not exclusively by Essential Home’s Monocles sideboard but also with the help of DelightFull’s minimalist Clark chandelier.
The oversized mirror simply placed against the wall was used as a way to convey a relaxed vibe in such a wide space as this living room. The concrete wall behind the television gave a special touch with the hand painted flowers on the top.
The canopy between the master bedroom and the corridor was done for the sole purpose of honoring the studios’s workshops near Paris. The wall fixtures are also bespoke pieces by the mid-century lighting brand DelightFull and are the Brubeck wall sconces.
Now that you have seen what goes by inside of the house online, it’s time to go take a look in real life, so when you catch yourself in Paris don’t hesitate in making an appointment and see it for yourself.
