26th of June: what a perfect date to enjoy luxury design to the max!
It’s almost time! The 2nd Edition of Luxury Design and Craftsmanship Summit, an independently organized Covet Group event, is just around the corner, from 26th to 27th of June and it promises to bring many surprises and an homage to luxury design and craftsmanship. Keep reading to find out more!

The word has been out for a while now but we’re reaching closer to the date. In fact, it’s already this Wednesday, at Pavilhão Multiusos de Gondomar, in the city of Porto, a Mecca of design, architecture and beauty. Gondomar remains the best venue for the 2nd edition of the Luxury Design & Craftsmanship Summit and this is why it’s happening yet again in a city known for its love and devotion to craftsmanship.
It’s an incredible event with networking possibilities, live debates, a meeting of creative minds, designers and luxury brands who will show you just why luxury design is still so sought after nowadays.
Among the highlights of this event is the fact that participants will be able to see for themselves a series of amazing arts and crafts in a live showcase in which several master artisans that will show what they can do best!

June 26 – Design Excellence and Craftsmanship Heritage
The first day starts off in the best way, with a sunset and cocktail party on the 25th at Covet Valley, just a day before. On the 26th of June, the doors open at 11 AM and attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a soft opening of the event, where several workshop exhibitions will be put on display for attendees to get a sense of the different arts and crafts that make the world of COVET Group and furniture design, overall.
The afternoon will officially open the Luxury Design and Craftsmanship Summit second edition with an opening ceremony led by COVET Group’s CEO, Amândio Pereira, followed by two panels and open discussions on design and craftsmanship.
The first panel will be A Dialogue Between Design and Artisanal Excellence and it will welcome designers such Christian Haas and Emmanuel Babled into an open talk about the need to mix design and its artisanal heritage to create unique products. Moderated by Michelangelo Foundation’s Nicole Segundo, the panel kicks off at 3.45PM.
The second and last panel of the day, Present and Future of Craftsmanship, moderated by Portuguese journalist Marina de Almeida, will sit four names in the craftsmanship industry to talk about what the future holds for this seemingly disappearing, yet crucial industry for what it means to create great products. The panel starts at 4.45PM, after a small intermission.
June 27 – Luxury Marketing and Crafting
On the last day of the Summit, you can still expect some incredible keynote speakers and live artisan shows. This day will be dedicated to luxury marketing and crafting, and it’s one you can’t miss! The doors will open just before 10AM, when a keynote speaker will kick off the last day before the first panel.
The first panel of the last day of the Luxury Design and Craftsmanship Summit will be held at 10.30AM on the 27th. The General Manager at Bentley + Lamborghini Miguel Costa, and the General Manager at Belcinto, Ana Maria Vasconcelos will join Luís Pedro Martins, President of Turismo do Porto e do Norte de Portugal, and Rita Sambado, founder of EUS School of Being for a dialogue on the luxury marketing industry. Marketing: Winning High-End Consumers will have these four experts talking about the importance of marketing on attracting new consumers in the luxury niches.
In the afternoon, after the opportunity to see multiple artisans working on set, a final panel on design and crafting will be held, just before the closing ceremony. Design and Crafting: Criteria to Excellence will bring together two designers, a strategy developer, and an international brand manager to talk about what meets the criteria to achieve excellence in design and crafting.
