Turning back to the 6 Italian-awarded rising talents at M&O, today we love them even more than we did yesterday!
One of the moments we were most anticipating for this edition of Maison & Objet was the usual Rising Talents’ Conference, where we get to know the 6 awarded up-and-coming interior designers and find out a little bit more about their work. Last Saturday, we had the opportunity to attend their incredible conference and know we are eager to share with you what have learned about these six outstanding young interior designers during Maison et Objet 2018!

Meet the young awarded talents…

A couple of months ago, we have talked about the six Italian up-and-coming artists that were chosen by six other established Italian designers to be presented with Maison & Objet’s Rising Talents award and a chance to exhibit their designs in Hall 7!
Today, and after having had the chance to hear what they had to say about their work, we are back to tell you why we keep on loving them. During the must-awaited conference, we got a chance to understand what they believe lies behind Italian design’s DNA, their education and how they came to be designers, and how Italian design can keep on leaving a mark in the future. But let’s get to know all six interior designers individually!
Guglielmo Poletti

Italian-born, Guglielmo Poletti chose to broaden his horizons and study abroad. The designer went to study in the Netherlands to learn more from other cultures and, in a way, take off of his shoulders some of the pressure of being an Italian designer and having to almost fill up the shoes of the great designers that came before him.
Kensaku Oshiro

Kensaku is a Japanese-born designer, but very much Italian at heart. Oshiro moved to Italy after having finished high school, trying to pursue interior design in a country that was less disciplined and functional than his homeland, Japan. Not only that, but the young designer had already fallen in love with Italian design, so it was the rational decision to make.
Federico Peri

Federico Peri is the designer that could almost not have been one in the first place! Peri’s first attempt at college was at a Marketing degree. However, after a stay of six months in Paris, the Federico Peri quickly fell in love with design and knew that was what he wanted to do with his life from then on.
Marco Lavit Nicora
In Marco Lavita Nicora’s work, he always tries to honor the best of classic Italian interior design by working on his designs with true Italian artisans. The reason the designer does this is that he believes they are amongst the best in the world, and only they can remain faithful to the standards of Italian design.
Antonio Facco

Having worked with Cappelinni before, Antonio Facco went on to open his own design studio in Milan. One of the major influences in his work is his perception of other cultures. The designer believes that a vital part of his work is to get in touch with different cultures and recognize them as a whole and not separate parts, in order to create the best product.
Federica Biasi

One of the first things the young designer pointed out was how honored she was to be receiving this recognition by Maison & Objet, one of the leading trade shows in the world, and a great vehicle for new, up-and-coming interior designers to let their work be known. As for what inspires her designs, Biasi kept it simple, stating that she mainly gets her inspiration from her travels, as well as nature and, most importantly, whatever she’s feeling at the moment.
