Natural materials in interior decor are on the spotlight this year. It’s all about awareness, about investing on materials that help the environment, that are one with the surroundings and bring a natural vibe to a space instead of making it feel cheap and fake. In 2019, we’re keeping it real in interior decor, and together with another huge trend, the mid-century style making a comeback, we’re ready to conquer the world of design.
It all starts with wood. When mid-century style was born, wood was everywhere, and it continues to be, even when you make it modern. Why? Wood is a classic material, a timeless one, that will never really go out of style and will certainly bring a natural look to a space, whether it be with a wooden dining chair, a wooden sideboard or even a wooden ceiling. It’s all about the brown-ish tones, the raw material, the journey in time it brings, as well as the history behind it.

Plants are the most natural way to introduce nature and the outside inside, but natural materials such as wood, metals, marble and others, are different and modern ways to to do the same. This year, expect to see many natural materials mixed with stunning colors and an eclectic vibe.
Neutral colors are another trend for 2019, as you must know, so keeping it simple with brown, black and white, softer and calmer colors, is the right choice. Natural materials bring those colors on their own, with no strain, and all you have to do is bring an accent piece, a pop of color to harmonize it all.
