This is what happened with this lovely apartment located in Kiev. It is composed of a single open plan living space, that features a living room, a dining space and the most wonderfully creative framed glass wall bedroom. Yes, that is right. At first sight, it might seem strange, but once you scroll through our whole selection of photos, you will understand that this bedroom is probably your new favorite interior design idea in the whole world. Pair this up with the best mid-century furniture you can imagine, and you’ve got yourself a stunning and very much improved small apartment in the heart of Kiev!

Commissioned as a future rental property, MARTIN Architects took on their hands to make their best with the 45 square meters they found available when first entering the residence in the center of Kiev. Their client’s only requirements were for the space to be functional while also visually appealing to those who might seek to rent it out. And with only 45 square meters available, the architecture and interior design firm did their best to create what is now an open plan living space with the most incredible glass-enclosed bedroom. One of the best things about this open layout is the way it lets the daylight in, at the same time it makes the flat look considerably larger. Of course, our favorite part are all the mid-century furniture pieces that were ingeniously places all over the room, making it look more modern and trendy.
This is probably one of the best photos we could have to help explain why we are loving this place so much. As you can see, the ceiling high windows, the classic leather sofa and the Eames chairs we can see on the right are all partnering up to create a harmonious and trendy space. This is topped up by minimalist lighting designs and a simple geometric patterned rug, which helps to finish up the look.

Reduced shapes and clean lines – the Konstantin CENTER Table truly embodies what an Essential Home piece is, an elegant look full of refinement and modernity.
The kitchen wall and backsplash were outfitted with brick that was painted black to contrast the light wood floors. This helps to keep the industrial vibe the designers were clearly going for, at the same time it contrasts with all the light coming through the windows.
The open room’s palette was kept fairly neutral with gray, black, and brown being the primary colors, while a teal shade was brought in as an accent color. Natural plants also make the room feel a little bit cozier and habitable, and not so much just a trendy loft in the city. The timeless mid-century dining chairs – Eames chairs – create the perfect relaxed but sophisticated vibe we love so much!
The glass walls can be seen at any point of the open plan living space. And even in the dining room area, we can see inside the bedroom, creating a more open feeling all around the apartment, which you can see both in the photos above and below.
The bedroom was partitioned off with framed glass so light still passes through, while also offering the space the obvious privacy when the curtains are closed.
