Dubai encompasses one of the fastest-growing design communities in our contemporary world. Today we are talking about their Design District, and all you need to know about it.
Dubai Design District, also known as D3, is one of Dubai’s most ambitious projects concerning design and the creative arts, overall. Part of the Dubai Plan 2021, D3 is being built under the guidelines of what we now know as smart cities, aiming to be a digitally connected district, which will ultimately lead to an innovation-driven economy. Seems pretty ambitious, right? Let’s take a look at it in a bit more detail.

Dubai Design District is home to Dubai’s growing community of creative thinkers in the fields of design, architecture, and culture. It is currently still being developed and built through consultation with Dubai’s design community. Its ultimate goal? Creating an ecosystem that brings more to the table than just your ordinary creative neighborhood.
D3 aims to engage, inspire and allow for new talents to grow and learn from local and international names in the design world. It is a platform to showcase Middle Eastern creative talents to a global audience, thus asserting Dubai as one of the most powerful design centers in the world.
In fact, as of 2018, many of the major design and architecture firms and studios are already based in D3, Dubai. Chances are by 2021 all design-related industry players will be setting their bases in Dubai Design District, putting together a strong conglomerate of names in all of Dubai’s design and architecture scene. There is no doubt D3 will be a place for all creatives to live, work, and enjoy their free time!

What can I do there?
If you’re planning a trip, and are wondering what to do in Dubai, know that, more than just a place to work, Dubai Design District is also a place filled with exciting events, restaurants, and places to shop!

Is that it?
No way! As we have said before, Dubai Design District is much more than a place to work. More than that, it is a place to feel inspired and be surrounded by other design lovers that will get exactly what you need and what you’re feeling.
There are more than 10 unique places to grab a bite, and the list is still growing. You can also take a walk and see a couple of showrooms on your way home, and even do a little bit of shopping! There are already many local fashion houses that are relocating to D3, meaning more places to shop, and to be inspired by.
Our suggestion is that you start following Dubai Design District on Instagram. Expect to feel inspired and ready to move to Dubai as soon as you start scrolling through their profile!
