Architectural Landmarks
World Trade Center Transportation Hub
The Santiago Calatrava-design World Trade Center Transportation Hub opened in the spring of 2016. From its initial design through to its final completion, the project proved to be arduous for its symbolism, its physical complexity, as well as for the number of commuters it would need to accommodate. This past summer, the interior of the Oculus (as it’s commonly known) opened the Westfield World Trade Center mall. The 365,000 square feet of retail space will accommodate some 113 tenants.
VIA 57 West
Designed by starchitect, Bjarke Ingels, VIA 57 West is a beautiful residential building that was completed in 2016. The structure has a pyramid-like design with an open-air garden in the middle of structure for tenants to enjoy.
Restaurants
Eleven Madison Park is a fine dining restaurant located in the heart of New York City. The restaurant overlooks one of the most beautiful parks in Manhattan, Madison Square Park, and sits at the base of a historic Art Deco building on the corner of 24th Street and Madison Avenue. Located there since 1998, it just underwent a full-scale renovation and redesign that will really up the value of the experience. Although the stunning plating and delicious cuisine are one of the best things about this restaurant, its interior design doesn’t fall short behind.
This four-star restaurant serves top-notch seafood. The freshest seafood is prepared using simple techniques to highlight the fish’s best qualities. Broken down into “Almost Raw,” “Barely Touched” and “Lightly Cooked” the menu reflects the preparations of the fish. Winner of the Fine Dining category of 2018 TripSavvy Editor’s Choice Awards, this restaurant not only impresses with its cuisine of french inspiration, but also with its interior design, modern and exquisite with a touch of vintage.
Hotels
The acclaimed Paris-based design duo lavished their attention on its soaring salons and 114 rooms and suites, each accented with Baccarat crystal and the fiery crimson shade of Baccarat red. The hotel’s modern, vibrantly eccentric social spaces are anchored by luxe elements—pleated silk walls, a rug printed in a crystal glass pattern, a monumental white marble table. We’re obsessed with the luxurious interiors and the simply perfect check-in and check-out process, as well as a wonderful staff and simply an experience that you won’t want to miss out on. Oh, and don’t forget to pay attention to their private art collection hanging on the walls.
